SENYUM ITU TELAH KEMBALI

Aku dipersilahkan masuk setelah beberapa kali aku mengetuk pintu rumahnya. Keluarlah seorang wanita tua, yang dari raut wajahnya menyimpan penderitaan yang begitu berat. Ketika kutanyakan benarkah ini rumah muridku yang bernama Fais, Wanita itu mengangguk dan mempersilahkan aku masuk. Fais sudah tiga hari tidak masuk sekolah tanpa ada pemberitahuan orang tuanya yang menjadi penyebabnya. Akhir-akhir ini Fais sering tidak masuk sekolah tanpa alasan yang jelas. Padahal Fais adalah anak yang pintar dan rajin.
Wanita tua yang ternyata Nenek Fais mempersilahkanku duduk di kursi tamu. Sang Nenek bercerita setengah berbisik sepertinya tak ingin orang yang berada di dalam mendengarnya. Fais kehilangan semangatnya untuk sekolah setelah mengetahui ibunya sakit kanker, kanker payudara. Sakit yang menurut Nenek sakit yang menakutkan. Apalagi ibu Fais sering menangis karena mengalami kesakitan setelah menjalani kemoterapi pasca operasi. Fais takut jika ibunya sampai terenggut penyakit tersebut. Aku merasakan apa yang yang dialami Ibu Fais.
Ibu Fais hari ini sedang menjalani kemoterapinya yang kedua diantar suaminya. Menurut Nenek ibunya waktu divonis kanker sangat sedih. Dia sempat mengurung diri di dalam kamar. Setelah diingatkan Nenek bahwa tidak boleh menyerah karena Fais anak satu-satunya masih sangat membutuhkannya, ibu Fais mulai mau membuka diri dan menjalani pengobatan ke rumah sakit. ”Ibu Fais bersemangat setelah ketemu teman-teman sesama pasien di Rumah Sakit DKT,” ceritanya.
Saya mengetahui ibu Fais dari grup WA “Lovepink” yaitu komunitas survival dan penderita kanker payudara. Saat itu secara tak sengaja aku membaca keluhan lewat WA ada anggota baru yang masuk. Aku sempat kaget ternyata ibunya Fais. Tertulis nama itu seperti yang tertulis di WA Paguyuban Wali Murid Kelas IXA, aku sebagai Wali kelasnya. Setelah mengenalkan diri di Grup Lovepink Ibu Fais menceritakan apa yang dia alami. Apa saja yang dirasakan setelah menjalani kemo terapi. Beberapa survival memberinya motivasi bahwa itu memang yang dialami sesudah menjalani kemoterapi.
“Ibu-ibu setelah kemo badan saya kok terasa sakit semua, panas dan pengen muntah terus….. gak enak makan dan rambut saya rontok.” keluhan Ibu Fais lewat WA. Beberapa ibu-ibu yang pernah mengalami hal sama turut mengomentari dan menyemangati Ibu Fais. Salah satunya dari Bu Prana pegiat Lovepink Jember, “Ibu-ibu yang sedang botak dan hadapi linu2 jangan khawatir pasti gak lama lagi akan tumbuh lagi dan tambah tebel. Linunya juga gak lama kok. Dinikmati saja seperti menikmati permen nano-nano!” seloroh Ibu Ketua Livepink itu menghibur.
Bahkan di grup WA itu juga ada dr. Patsy Sarayar sebagai advisor Lovepink mengomentarinya, ”Alhamdulillah semua obat biarkan bekerja baik dan memberikan efek sembuh yang luar biasa!” kata beliau. Beliaulah yang sering memberi pencerehan secara medis di Grup WA Livepink Jember.
Setelah beberapa lama Nenek menceritakan penderitaan Ibu Fais yang membuat sedih hati Fais, Nenek berpamitan untuk memanggilkan Fais yang sedang mencuci baju di belakang setelah terlebih dahulu memohon kepadaku untuk memberi nasihat pada Fais agar ia bersemangat lagi bersekolah.
Tak berapa lama Fais pun muncul. Aku sangat kaget melihatnya. Dia kelihatan kurus tak bersemangat. Setelah menyalamiku dia duduk persis di depanku. Ketika kutanyai kenapa tidak berangkat sekolah, dia tidak menjawab, menunduk dan kemudian terisak walaupun dia berusaha menahannya.
“Gak apa-apa menangislah Nak!” Tangisnya semakin keras setelah aku mendekat dan mengelus rambutnya. Aku pun membiarkannya menangis di pelukanku. Semoga dengan tangisan itu membuat dadanya lebih lega.
“Bu Guru tahu apa yang ibumu alami dan apa yang kamu rasakan karena aku juga pernah mengalaminya.” kataku dengan tenang.
“Maksud Ibu?” tanyanya penasaran, “Ibu atau keluarga Ibu ada yang sakit kanker seperti ibu saya?” Aku menganggukan kepala pasti.
“Yaa aku 13 tahun yang lalu diberi ujian yang sama seperti ibumu. Dan itu pun tidak hanya sekali, kedua payudara ibu sudah tidak ada karena Ibu harus diopersi seperti ibumu. Dia seolah tak percaya dia pandangi aku dengan mata terbelalak.
“Jadi Ibu tahu bagaimana rasanya orang dikemo. Bagaimana kesedihan dan kekhawatiran anak ibu satu-satu melihat yang Ibu alami.” ucapku menjelaskan kepada Fais bahwa bukan hanya ibunya yang sakit kanker, memahamkan dia bahwa kanker itu tidak identik dengan kematian, kanker bisa disembuhkan.
“Tapi Bu……. Ibu kulihat baik-baik saja seperti tidak mengalami penderitaan apa-apa?” jawabnya penuh keheranan. “Aku bahkan tidak tahu kalau Ibu…..” dia tak melanjutkan ucapannya.
“Iya …. Kamu gak tahu karena Ibu sekarang sudah sehat. Tahun 2009 yang lalu keadaanku gak beda jauh dengan ibumu. Tapi Ibu yakin keadaan Ibu akan pulih seperti semula setelah ditangani dokter. Keyakinan itulah yang membuat Ibu kuat menjalani pengobatan termasuk salah satunya lewat kemoterapi. Banyak pasien yang gak kuat merasakan kesakitan di seluruh tubuh, badan terasa panas, mual, gak enak makan, bahkan rambut yang rontok sampai harus gundul. Itu semua itu sudah Ibu alami, Fais” ceritaku tenang.”Kadang pasien tidak tahan dan lebih memilih berhenti menjalani Kemoterapi.”
“Jadi….jadi sakit kanker itu bukan akhir dari segalanya ya, Bu? “ wajahnya seolah tersiram darah jadi memerah yang tadinya pucat tak bersemangat. Aku hanya menganggukkan kepala dengan mengelus rambutnya. Nenek keluar dengan membawa teh panas dan pisang rebus. Dari wajahnya terlihat beliau tersenyum melihat perubahan pada cucunya.
“Benar Nak, kanker tidak identik dengan kematian. Asal kita mau berusaha dan berdoa, Allah akan memberi kita sehat. Buktinya Ibu ini juga sampai hari ini masih bisa berada di depanmu,” jawabku memberinya semangat agar dia mengetahui ibunya pun bisa sehat seperti yang Ibu alami.
“Ingat Fais, ibumu itu sangat membutuhkan support darimu anak satu-satunya. Jangan perlihatkan kesedihanmu. Kamu harus menyemangati ibumu. Tetap rajin belajar dan sekolah. Saya kira hal itu akan membuat ibumu bahagia. Dan kebahgiaan itu akan berdampak pada kesembuhan ibumu. Fais mengangguk-anggukkan kepalanya tanda setuju. Nenek terlihat mengelus dada penuh kelegaan. Itu karena harapannya menjadi kenyataan.
“Jadi kamu berjanji akan seperti Fais yang Ibu kenal dulu rajin dan semangat belajar?” tanyaku. Dia tidak berkata hanya anggukannya mantap. “Alhamdulillah…….matur nuwun Gusti,” Nenek mengucapkan syukurnya. Bersaamaan dengan anggukan kepala Fais masuklah Ibu dan ayah Fais yang baru pulang dari rumah sakit. Badannya terlihat lemah, wajahnya pucat. Sepertinya kurang sehat. Fais langsung berlari dan memeluknya.
“Ibu, Ibu harus semangat gak boleh menyerah! Aku berjanji akan sekolah lebih rajin lagi. Aku butuh Ibu. Ibu harus Kembali sehat! Seperti Bu Rumi ini,” berondong Fais untuk menyemangati Ibunya.
“Ini Bu Rumi Wali Kelasku yang pernah sakit kanker juga,” kata Fais mengenalkanku pada Ibunya. Setelah bersalaman dan mengenalkan diri bahwa saya juga anggota Livepink Jember seperti beliau. Ibu Fais terlihat kaget.
“Jadi Bu Rumi itu Jenengan Wali kelasnya Fais, ya? Ibu juga sakit seperti saya, Bu?” tanya Ibu Fais penasaran.”Sejak kapan Ibu sakit?” lanjutnya.
“Saya sudah tiga belas tahun, Bu. Ibu juga bisa seperti saya, Kembali seperti sedia kala asal jenengan menjalani pengobatan dengan sabar dan menjalani seperti yang dianjurkan dokter. Kalau ada apa-apa mungkin kita berdiskusi di grup WA Livepink Jember,” kataku memberi semangat.
“Bener , Bu saya sangat terbantu dan termotivasi dari para survivor di Livepink yang dengan penuh kesabaran menyemangati kami yang sedang menjalani pengobatan kanker. Semula kami merasa stres dan pesimis menghadapi penyakit ini. Tapi berkat info dan masukan dari para relawan Livepink kami jadi paham dan percaya diri untuk menjalani pengobatan,” puji Ibu Fais pada Livepink Jember.
“Syukurlah, Bu. Saya turut senang melihat kondisi Ibu. Tapi yang membuat saya lega adalah Fais sudah tidak sedih lagi.” kataku sambil meraih pundak Fais, “Dia sudah berjanji untuk belajar lebih giat lagi agar Ibu tidak sedih, agar ibu lebih fokus lagi menjalani pengobatan, bukan begitu Fais?” Fais menjawab dengan hanya anggukan dan senyumnya pada ibunya. Ibunya tersenyum lega.
“Terima kasih, Bu Guru. Terima kasih telah membuat Fais tersenyum kembali.” kata Nenek menyalamiku dengan erat. Aku segera berpamitan dan kembali ke sekolah. Lega!
